On the Team Z k member, the distance between the center of the front A arm mount bolts is 23-1/4", measured from the front side of the k member. On my Team Z A arms, when I measure from the centerline of the K member mounting points (ie an imaginary line extended through them) to the center point of the ball joint I'm getting 13-3/4". I'd make measurements of the width of the stock k member A arm mounting points and compare them to the Team Z one and likewise compare the stock and Team X A arms closely. Team Z is pretty responsive so they should be able to get this straightened out.įrom the picture of your installation it sure looks like your arms are too long, or the mounting points on the k member are moved out too far. Its hard to tell because of the perspective of the pictures but its possible that your arms might be a little longer than mine (which are also stock length). Also just found a picture of a member's arms from 2013 that is the same style as the ones on Team Z's website.įB, my arms look the same as yours, ie they don't have the bent leg you showed in that pic of the other set. Team Z Mustang Crome molly Standard A-Arms Now look at the stock photo on Team Z's website. Post added at 09:30 PM - Previous post was at 09:25 PM. See how extreme the angle of the coilover is? Looks as if the whole thing is pushed outward. I'll be sure to post how that conversation goes. I am going to call Team Z in the morning and ask if there is any chance I got wider arms or something. I originally attributed this to me forgetting to buy offset rack bushings, but if the suspension geometry is wider than stock there is no telling what it could change, I guess. The tie-rod adjustment maxxes our before they can be centered up with the steering wheel. My wheels are angled towards the right or left, and the only way to get them straight is to turn the steering wheel almost upside down. I am having issues with both the rack and camber lining up. It almost seems like the arms are 1" wider than stock or something, but I don't think Team Z offers that option on this style of arm. I did check the arm direction when I installed them, and it is correct. I'll grab some measurements ASAP and email you to get a comparison. It's too bad I'll be out of town until the weekend. I took some pictures I will put up later tonight.Ĭlick to expand.I'll do that, Cal. If I can't come up with a solution here soon, I'll have to scrap this stuff and put my stock K and arms back in. The car isn't drivable this way, even to limp around. Like I said earlier, I'm going nuts here. I'll call tomorrow and try to talk to Team Z and see if there could have been a mishap and I got sent the wrong parts somehow, but I doubt it will yield anything.ĭoes anyone have ANY ideas what I could have done wrong to make things this messed up in the front end? Any similar experiences? Any advice? I don't care how out in left field it sounds at this point, I'll give it a shot. Even if I used spacers to set these out, I would still have a stupid amount of camber. Even if it was out of whack, I still don't think it could cause me this kind of issues. Standard length A arms and a K member for 96-04. *I found my receipt from Team Z and they did bill me for the correct parts. now the gap is 2" larger, and they are completely maxxed. The CC plates were almost maxxed out then, but still had a bit room left. Had a 2 finger gap between the tire and fender. *Before the tubular parts, I was lowered 2+ inches on H&R ss springs. This should yield the most positive camber adjustment. *The CC plates are in the normal, positive, orientation based off of MM's instructions. Plus my CC plates are maxxed out anyway, so there is nothing the alignment shop can do for me. But it is not drivable in it's current condition. I know it's normal to have the car aligned after this kind of work, and believe me, it needs it. My CC plates are maxxed out, and I still have an insane amount of negative camber. I have so much negative camber that my wheels are rubbing my coilover springs on the inside, and the car has a 4-finger-wide fender gap in the front between the tire and fender. Today was finally a pretty enough day for me to drop the car on the ground and roll it outside. That should have clued me in that something what wrong, but nope. You may remember my thread from a few days ago about the coilovers hitting the frame lip. What I am running: Team Z Chromoly K member+arms+coilovers.
